Luo Erchun (Born 1930)
Luo Erchun was born in Hunan province in South Central China in 1930 and graduated from the Suzhou Fine Arts Institute in 1951. He served as editor for the People's Publishing House of Fine Arts and from 1959 to 1964 was an attending lecturer at the Fine Arts Department of Beijing Art College. In 1990, he retired from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He held individual painting exhibitions at the Central Academy of Fine Arts respectively in 1982, 1987 and 1990.In April 1988, he held an individual painting exhibition at the famous Hefner Gallery in New York.In 1991, he conducted academic exchanges and held an individual painting exhibition at the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris. In 1998 and 1999, he held painting exhibitions respectively at the Unique Art Gallery and the Tswei-heng Gallery of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taiwan. From August 25 to September 25, 2006, his individual painting show Luo Erchun's Oil Painting Exhibition was held at the Beijing Baiyaxuan Gallery, which was 15 years later than his last individual exhibition. From March 23 to April 10, 2007, with the assistance of the Beijing Baiyaxuan Gallery, Luo Erchun's Oil Painting Exhibition was held under sponsorship of the Shanghai Art Museum, Central Academy of Fine Arts and China Oil Painting Society at the Shanghai Art Museum.
